Therapeutic Horticulture (TH) Education & Learning Services


Therapeutic Horticulture education and learning services provide courses and professional development, program development, consultation and supervision, as well as Lunch & Learn, keynote, plenary and annual workshop presentations on the healing and therapeutic benefits of plants and nature.

If you are interested in registration with the American Horticultural Therapy Association (AHTA), we offer a Therapeutic Horticulture Certificate of Completion accredited with AHTA and includes six required courses related to therapeutic horticulture (equaling 16 semester credit hours).  This can be taken as a degree-awarded program or non-degree-seeking program.  The certificate of completion can also be a part of Graduate Minor at Center for Spirituality and Healing, Post Baccalaureate Certificate at Center for Spirituality and Healing, and Certificate in Disability Policy and Services Certificate from Institute on Community Integration.  For further information contact Carla Mantel.

Professional Development:

TH workshops and training for human health professionals. These provide CEUs and focus on a specific therapeutic landscapes, specific human health modalities or clientele.

Program Development:

TH frameworks, training structures, policies and procedures, and therapeutic landscape design and activities tailored to the contracting site.

Online TH curriculum, teaching resources and activities to serve as an introduction into the field of TH.

Individual Consultation and Supervision:

Support and oversight to new gardens as it pertains to accomplishing therapeutic and experiential learning goals and objectives.

An internship site for U of MN students who desire training in TH.
