Summer Day Camp Party with Dolls or Stuffed Animals (age 5 - 7)
Monday - Thursday, June 18 - 21, 9 a.m. - noon

From creating to playing, baking to making, share the fun of camp with a favorite doll or stuffed animal! Make new friends while on the lookout for tadpoles and treasures, explore the magic of the Arboretum gardens using bits of nature and big imaginations to craft unique accessories for dolls, stuffed animals and campers alike. Take home planting projects, and end the week with a festive tea party using herbs from the garden to make delicious dishes and tasty teas.
NOTE: Bring a doll or stuffed animal to camp each day

Welcome to a not-so-traditional creative summer experience full of variety, fun, and nature-adventures! Discover how unusual art-project materials such as spray bottles, twigs and antacid tabs can be used to design unique works of art. Play with color by concocting fizzy mixtures, chalkboard slime, and a DIY lava lamp. Explore the Arboretum gardens and woods together while hunting for items to make fragrant herb potions and a tiny tree house for an animal creation.

Let the Wild Rumpus start! Explore the Arboretum's wonder-filled hidden places while searching for wild things high and low. Bring imaginative nature-play to life through crafts, cooking, games, hikes, and dancing! Become a wild thing by wallowing in squishy mud and planting wild projects to take home. Discover the amazing world of animal adaptations, and experience an up-close encounter with real wild things from the UofM's Raptor Center. Where the Wild Things Are is a trademark of Harper Collins Publishers; this camp is inspired by (but not affiliated with) the Where the Wild Things Are book.

Magic School Bus Arboretum Adventure Day Camp (age 5 - 7)

Join in for a wild ride! Based on the celebrated book series, "The Magic School Bus," this new science camp comes to life with a literary twist and different themed adventures each day. Curiosity will be piqued while conducting science experiments, creating imaginative projects and exploring the Arboretum. Favorite kid activities like puppet shows, songs, and mud play are coupled with the use of binoculars, microscopes and magnifying glasses to look closer at scientific concepts and connections in the natural world. Magic School Bus is a trademark of Scholastic Inc; this camp is inspired by (but not affiliated with) the Magic School Bus books.

Bug Hunters and Dirt Detectives Day Camp (age 5 - 7)

Special Guest: Exotic insects from Como Park Zoo

Creepy crawlies are some of the coolest creatures around! Hearts will sing (or buzz) with adventure while searching for bugs, worms and butterflies. Discover why these critters play an important role in the ecosystem and where the best places are to observe these animals in action. Investigations continue as Como Zoo brings in some buggy guests, and we dig even deeper to get the scoop on dirt while exploring what it's made of, where it came from and of course, what type makes the best mud pies!

Garden Harvest Hoopla Day Camp (age 5 - 7)
Monday - Thursday, August 20 - 23, 9 a.m. - noon

It's harvest time in the gardens, join in on the excitement! Collect fragrant herbs, delicious vegetables and beautiful flowers, then use the harvested goodies to mix up tasty snacks and create works of art. Investigate garden ecosystems to learn whether the bug crawling under that leaf is a pest or valued guest. Use science principles to inspect the wow-worthy insides of fruits and vegetables, take time for imaginative outdoor play, and bring home some beauty from the garden to share with family.

Cancellation Policy
For the following Summer Kids Programs:
Registration fees include a $25 non-refundable deposit
 • Ages 5-7 Day Camps • Ages 7-11 Day Camps (excluding Friday Favorites) • Ages 5-13 Weekly Children's Garden
REFUNDS
Refunds less a $25 non-refundable deposit will be given for those cancelling 30 days or more before the start of camp. No refunds nor exchanges will be given to those who withdraw less than 30 days prior to start date.
EXCHANGES
Exchanges are permitted 30 days or more before the start of camp with no penalty. No refunds nor exchanges will be given to those who withdraw less than 30 days prior to start date
