Friendly volunteers await visitors of all ages in the Arboretum gardens on summer weekends, ready to talk about plants and nature with a warm welcome, free activities and helpful garden tips! Ask at the Visitor Center Information Desk for details, times, locations and directions.

DAYS Mondays and Saturdays, August - September 2020

LOCATION Morgan Terrace (behind the Snyder Building)
INCLUDED with gate admission

Every tree tells a story...or many! Stop at this interactive station to learn how to be on a first name basis with some common trees at the Arboretum. Listen to the stories of our trees by feeling their bark, looking up close at their tree rings, and cracking the code of those mysterious tree tags. Let the Arboretum Guides help direct you to some of the biggest, oldest, and most interesting trees at the Arboretum

LOCATION Farm at the Arb
INCLUDED with gate admission

A bushel and a peck. What's that?  Get up close and personal with Minnesota's most important crops and learn how farmers measure the harvest.  Then, join an Arboretum Guide for a welcome tour of the farm and find out what special seasonal highlights and activities are happening today in the shadow of the Red Barn.

LOCATION Visitor Center Front Plaza
INCLUDED with gate admission

Find knowledgeable volunteer Arboretum Guides at a kiosk in front of the Visitor Center, eager to help you make the most of your visit. Stop by to find out what is in bloom today, where to find free activities, and other highlights. Volunteers can also guide you toward the gardens with a short starter tour.

The best chance of being enrolled in a sold out class is to add your name to the waitlist. Click the orange "waitlist" button next to the class and complete the form. There is no obligation to register if a spot opens. If the waitlist shows enough demand, additional sessions may be added.
