With a degree in sculpture from the Chicago Art Institute and a master's in architecture from Harvard, Wheeler Williams chose sculpture as his profession. He spent eight years in Paris studying at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts with Jules Coutan before setting up a studio in New York. This mermaid with shell is the sixty-seventh cast of an edition of unknown size.
