  • If possible, make sure that there is a valid email listed for the intended participant. Class participants will receive helpful tips and directions by email before their experience.
  • When your order is complete, remember to take note of your order number! You'll need that for the Certificate of Registration (see step 3, below)
  • Arboretum members may select the discounted member rate when gifting registrations...yes, even to non-members! Score!

FAQ

What are the best classes to give as gifts?
Wow, with so many choices, it can be challenging to choose!
Browse this list for personality types and matching experience gift ideas.

Can I give a dollar amount and let the participant choose which class they'd prefer?

The best choice for this scenario is an Arboretum Gift card! Arboretum Gift Cards can be used at the gift store, restaurant, towards admission, membership, children's and adult classes. Plus, they never expire and can be used all year-long!

Arboretum Gift Cards may be purchased online in your choice of denominations: $10, $25, $50, $100, $150.

Gift cards cannot be redeemed online at this time. To redeem a gift card for a class, contact the Arboretum Education Office at 612-301-1210.

If you prefer a different amount and/or wish to have the gift card sent somewhere other than your address, please contact Gift Store directly at 612-301-7619.

I'd like to gift an Arboretum Summer Day Camp Experience to a child, but I see your camps are not listed yet.

The best choice for this scenario is an Arboretum Gift card! See above answer for more details.

What is the latest date I can purchase a gift registration and still receive a gift certificate in the mail?

Each certificte is custom made to your specifications. Please allow 2-3 business days for the certificate to be created and 5-7 days for the US mail. The latest recommended date for mailing a certificate is Thursday, December 13. If you are concerned about the timing or would like the certificate sooner, we recommend selecting the "print-at-home" option in the form!

Can the recipients exchange this experience for something else?

If the exchange is requested a minimum of 2 weeks prior to the class date, the value of any registration may be exchanged for a different available class or educational experience. A $5 processing fee will apply. Requests within 2 weeks of the class date may not be honored.
Exchanges must be requested via phone 612-301-1210 or email ArbEdu@umn.edu

Can I receive a refund?

Registration cancellations must be made two weeks prior to class date in order to receive refund. A $5 processing fee will apply.
Refunds must be requested via phone 612-301-1210 or email ArbEdu@umn.edu
