Fugue Processionaire
Antoine Poncet, 1928- , French 1997 Rose marble

The Swiss-born Poncet's accomplished technique in marble is in clear evidence in this transcendent work. In Latin, fugue means flight. And in music, a fugue is a composition characterized by systematic imitation of one or more themes in counterpoint. Both definitions are evident in this work.
Gift of Alfred Harrison and Ingrid Lenz Harrison, 2017.
