Otherwise / Forest Transformation Seat Room
Rebecca Krinke, American 2003 wood and copper 56"H x 59"W x 25"D
The bench in front focuses the viewer's attention on the moment by moment changes in light on the copper, while another bench behind the wall provides a panoramic view of the woods and pond. It allows the visitor to sit and contemplate. After the tragic events of September 11, 2001 this setting was created to find solace. The 'Forest Transformation' is a place of contemplation, a setting that reminds us of the restorative power of nature and silence.
