Summer Weekly Children's Garden 2019 Ages 5 - 13
Grow bushels of produce, kinship, and garden skills! Together with a garden partner, you will receive your very own kid-sized Arboretum garden plot to sow, tend, and harvest all summer long. Each week, creative activities, projects, and recipes change as your gardens come to life. Lessons from the classroom are integrated outside and observed in your garden filled with flowers, fruits, and vegetables. Make snacks together in the kitchen using produce and herbs picked from our gardens! Register together with a friend and request them as your garden partner, or enjoy the excitement of making new friends with a garden partner we pair for you.

An amazing introductory experience with a focus on fun! Mighty Mites is the perfect place to start growing a love of gardening. Throughout the summer we will tend to our gardens from spring seed to autumn blossoms. Mighty Mites will learn the value of teamwork while having the opportunity to investigate and explore with one another as the garden takes on a life of its own. From snails and sowbugs to snakes and song birds, Mighty Mites is the place where your child can enjoy the fruits of their labor with friends in the garden, classroom, and the harvest kitchen. NOTE: Parents and/or guardians are encouraged to attend the introductory weekend Planting Sessions with their child.

Children's Garden: Seed Sowers for 7 - 10 year olds (972-05-04-19)

Seed Sowers is the place for exploration and investigation! Whether new to the Children's Garden program or rising up in the ranks, the excitement of learning and growing new skills as a Seed Sower is not one to miss! The garden provides the perfect living laboratory to examine plant science up close. Foundational concepts such as seed sprouting, photosynthesis, insects, and pollination are looked at through a lens of creativity and curiosity. Seed Sowers will explore a wide range of hands-on adventures in the garden, classroom, and harvest kitchen. What amazing discoveries will we make this year? Join the Seed Sowers to find out!
NOTE: Parents and/or guardians are encouraged to attend the introductory weekend Planting Sessions with their child.

Garden-based learning taken to the next level! Whether new to the Children's Garden program or having made it to the top, Garden Chefs create their own learning opportunities guided by their respective interests and intuition. In-depth learning in the classroom and kitchen is evident when Garden Chefs integrate that knowledge outdoors. Garden Chefs then use their skills and abilities to generate delicious meals and nutritious produce that they can share with one another and their families. This is the place where summer comes alive, the ultimate garden-to-table experience awaits!
