  • Choose a spice to flavor your own fresh-baked gingerbread cookie
  • Learn what might have been on your spice shelf 500 years ago
  • Take a spice-seeking voyage around the Learning Center greenhouse
  • Discover why these plants are known as healthy winter warmers

Many of our houseplants were once wild plants somewhere. How plants lead their lives in nature can give you clues about ways to multiply or divide them.
  • Practice your propagation skills by starting cuttings
  • Learn how to care for your new plant and take your plant home
  • Get inspired by the displays in the Learning Center greenhouse
  • Return to collect them all! Plant selections change every two weeks

Tomatoes can be tasty summer treats, especially when they come from your own garden. Eliminate some of the challenges of growing your own by learning how to choose the best tomato for your garden.
  • Jumpstart spring by choosing a tomato seed to plant and take.
  • Learn the two main kinds of tomatoes and which one is right for you.
  • Explore the diversity of tomatoes!
  • Discover new containers and planting ideas to succeed in growing your own tomatoes at home.
  • Make-and-take a bookmark with care tips to remember what you've learned.

Member Perk!
Arboretum Members may invite non-members to attend a class with them at the discounted member rate! Simply register for all participants at the same time in the same order and select the "member" rate for each person at checkout.

Waitlist
The best chance of being enrolled in a sold out class is to add your name to the waitlist. Click the orange "waitlist" button and complete the form, or call 612-301-1210. There is no obligation to register if a spot opens. If the waitlist shows enough demand, additional class sessions may be added.
