For your safety during summer 2021:

  • All sessions will be held primarily outdoors and will follow all current state and university guidelines for COVID-19 safety protocols (see below), which are subject to change.
  • We are limiting registration, and spreading this program out so we can maintain distancing in the activity areas. Choose your time at registration: 9:00-10:30 a.m. or 9:45-11:15 a.m. or 10:30 a.m.-noon
  • Limit one adult caretaker per child. One adult may bring more than one registered child.
  • All siblings must have their own paid registration to attend, whether they participate or not. This will help maintain a safe limit on people in the activity areas.
  • Snacks will not be offered this season; you are welcome to bring your own!
  • Sessions are weather dependent! Please plan ahead for sun, bugs, or light rain.
  • In the case of cancellation due to heavy rain or severe weather, participants will be notified by text and email no later than 8:00am on the day of the program. NOTE that the phone number we will use to send text will be the emergency contact information collected during registration. Email questions to ArbEdu@umn.edu.
  • A rain date has been added to the end of the program should a cancellation occur. Prorated refunds will be given after the final session if more than one session needs to be cancelled.

Covid-19 Protocols
The Minnesota Landscape Arboretum is committed to nurturing the health of the community and all who participate in our programming. We are continuously monitoring the circumstances surrounding COVID-19, and are making decisions about our operations based on the latest guidelines from the University of Minnesota, CDC, MN Department of Health, and the American Camp Association.

We take the guidance from these organizations very seriously and our first priority is keeping everyone safe. At the same time, we are eager and excited to welcome in-person programming back to the Arboretum for Summer 2021! As always, we are constantly adapting to best practices for keeping participants and staff healthy, safe, and engaged while together at the Arboretum.

Current guidelines dictate the implementation of the following procedures in our PeaPods program, however, we will keep up-to-date on any revisions to these health and wellness recommendations, and adjust our plans as needed throughout the summer:
  • Group sizes will be limited and social distancing will be maintained as much as possible with extra caution taken during any inside activity to minimize close contact with others.
  • In compliance with University guidelines, all staff and program participants will be required to wear masks at all times (even when outdoors) that meet the CDC standards covering both the mouth and nose.
  • The use of shared equipment and supplies will be limited and sanitizing will be done regularly throughout the program time.
Note: Due to the unpredictability of the virus, we reserve the right to cancel programs if needed, and will refund any prepaid program fees.
