Summer Day Camps 2021

 

For your safety during summer 2021, we are keeping our groups small and avoiding the need for campers from different groups to mix together. All sessions will be held primarily outdoors and will follow all current state and university guidelines for COVID-19 safety protocols, which are subject to change.

Operation: Insect Investigation + Pinecraft Full-Day Camp Bundle (Ages 7-9 & 9-11)

$265 member/$295 non-member, includes Arboretum admission, all project supplies and the added value of an extra lunch hour (bring your own bag lunch) filled with bonus games and activities, PLUS flexible extended drop off and pick-up times*! Enjoy a full day of Arboretum-style adventures that combine these morning and afternoon themed camps, separated by a fun lunch hour. These camps are offered bundled together as full-day only, and are not available individually as half-day options.

Operation: Insect Investigation Day Camp (Mornings)

Get up close and personal with the miraculous world of bugs! Adventures around the Arb provide fun ways to investigate insects' unique adaptations and fascinating life-cycle transformations!
  • Become a bug detective by meeting and studying our resident insect ambassadors
  • Suit up like a real beekeeper to get an up-close look inside a honey bee hive!
  • Discover the sneaky world of bug-eating plants, and build your own bug-friendly habitat to attract insect visitors
  • Enjoy bug-tastic experiments, games, and even bug-tasting(!)

PINECRAFT Day Camp: Take the World of MinecraftTM Outdoors! (Afternoons)

Get away from the screen and into the wild, learning about nature through a real outdoor MinecraftTM-themed adventure!
  • Survive in an unfamiliar environment, build an epic house, forage for food, mine for materials and fend off wandering monsters through a series of challenges
  • Develop survival skills through fire-making, mapping, and plant identification
  • "Creative mode" allows time for creating potions, planting take-home projects and imaginative nature exploration

CANCELLATION POLICY: Camps may be refunded up to 30 days prior to the camp start date for a full refund minus a $25 cancellation fee. No refunds will be given to those who withdraw less than 30 days prior to the start date. Should the Arboretum need to cancel the program for any reason, a full refund will be given. CAMP WAIVER/RELEASE: Adults registering children for in-person Arboretum Day Camps accept the terms of the waiver and release as part of the online checkout process.

Waitlist
The best chance of being enrolled in a sold out class is to add your name to the waitlist. Click the orange "waitlist" button next to the class and complete the form. There is no obligation to register if a spot opens. If the waitlist shows enough demand, additional sessions may be added.
