Seed Starters: Green Thumb Garden Club Kit To-Go (Ages 5 - 11)

Packed with fun supplies and a cool collection of seeds, this mid-summer edition of the Green Thumb Garden Club Kit will help you cultivate a variety of seed-grown plants for indoor and outdoor use with your very own seed starting equipment. Use your creativity while investigating the plant kingdom through scientific experiments and art projects. This self-directed kit can be completed at your own pace (internet access required to access the SeeSaw platform for pre-recorded videos, audio, and garden activities).

Kit includes*

  • Plant tray, lid and supplies for seed starting and plant cultivation
  • Seeds-growing supplies: squirt bottle, pots and soil
  • A variety of different seeds to grow: fast-growing edibles for late summer harvest and indoor plants
  • Supplies for art and DIY projects

How it works
  • Order (1) kit per child
  • Kit activities are suggested for ages 5-11, younger children will require adult assistance with some activities
  • Kits will be mailed to your address on July 20th, allow approximately 7 business days for kits to arrive; Arboretum pickup not available
  • Kids will need a few common household supplies to complete some of the projects. A complete list of additional items needed will be included with the kit.

Total kits available: 40, available for purchase through July 6, while supplies last

*Shipping Notes: Sets ship from the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum in Chaska, MN via UPS. Allow up to 7 business days for arrival to Minnesota addresses. For delivery to states other than MN, WI, IA, SD, and ND, an additional $10 shipping fee will be assessed. Delivery is limited to the continental US.

"Cultivate" your gardening skills with this year's early-summer Green Thumb Garden Club Kit! Packed with fun supplies and live plants, these kits will get you outside, growing your own garden plants and harvesting all summer long. Engage with dozens of structured hands-on activities and creative projects as your plants come to life. This self-directed kit can be completed at your own pace (internet access required to access the SeeSaw platform for pre-recorded videos, audio, and garden activities).

Kit includes*

  • Vegetable & flowering plants: (1) Tomato, (1) Pepper, (2) 4-packs of flowering plants and (2) specialty annuals
  • A collection of seeds for planting
  • Trowel and watering can
  • Butterfly net, bug box, and hand lens
  • Supplies and scavenger hunts for four weeks of themed activities listed below*

How it works
  • Order (1) kit per child
  • Kit activities are suggested for ages 5-11, younger children will require adult assistance with some activities
  • Participants need access to a small sunny spot for 12+ plants (approximately 3'x3' space), this could be in-ground or in containers
  • Pickup instructions and kit information will be emailed to you prior to your kit pickup date
  • Kids will need a few common household supplies to complete some of the projects. A complete list of additional items needed will be included with the kit.
Please note: This Kit To-Go contains some similar products and activities to the same Kit from last summer, but most of the activities are NEW! For those who completed this Kit last summer, we recommend ordering this kit again for the new activities, and/or ordering the NEW "Seed Starters: Green Thumb Garden Club Kit To-Go" below!
