Maple Syrup Time Field Trip

Maple Sugar House is the location for the Maple Syrup Time Field Trip and the seasonal MapleFest Celebration.

There are two buildings in this area, called the "Sugar House" and the "Maple Room."

THE SUGAR HOUSE
Contains equipment to make maple syrup, which is available for purchase at the Arboretum Gift & Garden Store.

FROG HOLLOW WORKSHOP/MAPLE ROOM
The Arboretum Auxiliary uses this building as a base for their Volunteer activities. This building is also the "Maple Room" used for the Maple Syrup Time Field Trip.

The The Wood Duck Trail is located on the south side of these buildings and features a collection of sugar maples connected by a sap collection system.

ARBORETUM ENTRY

As you enter the Arboretum, tell the gatehouse you are headed to the Maple Sugarhouse and they can assist you with additional directions

FREE Parking

*BUS PARKING* DIRECTIONS TO MAPLE SUGAR HOUSE 
  • After you pass through the gatehouse, take the FIRST RIGHT.
  • Drive PAST the main parking lots, you will loop behind them and come to a T
  • intersection. You should see a hill directly in front of you.
  • Turn RIGHT onto a one-way road, keeping the hill on your left.
  • Follow the curved road past the picnic shelters.
  • PASS the Learning Center Parking lot on your left and the Learning Center on your right.
  • Turn RIGHT at the stop sign past the Learning Center and continue on one-way road towards Visitor Center
  • IMMEDIATELY AFTER the road banks to the right, PARALLEL PARK on the road before the stop sign.
  • Frog Hollow/Maple Field Trip is accessible ON FOOT from this location. Head straight up from the parked bus and turn right down a steep hill across from the Visitor Center loading dock.
