Give the gift of an Arboretum Experience!
Research indicates that experiences make us happier than things do.
Join the experience-giving trend this holiday season...your thoughtfulness will not only benefit the recipient, but will benefit the Arboretum, too!

STEP 1   Select the Experience

Browse available classes and educational experiences
or browse via the column on the right side of this page

Place your order by registering the recipient(s):

What are the best classes to give as gifts?
Wow, with so many choices, it can be challenging to choose!
Browse this list for personality types and matching experience gift ideas.

Can I give a dollar amount and let the participant choose which class they'd prefer?

The best choice for this scenario is an Arboretum Gift card! Arboretum Gift Cards can be used at the gift store, restaurant, towards admission, membership, children's and adult classes. Plus, they never expire and can be used all year-long!

Arboretum Gift Cards may be purchased by phone in your choice of denomination, and mailed to any address. To purchase, contact the Arboretum Gift Store at 612-301-7619.

Gift cards cannot be purchased nor redeemed online at this time. To redeem a gift card for a class, contact the Arboretum Education Office at 612-301-1210.

I'd like to gift an Arboretum Summer Day Camp Experience to a child, but I see your camps are not listed yet.

The best choice for this scenario is an Arboretum Gift card! See above answer for more details.

What is the latest date I can purchase a gift registration and still receive a gift certificate in the mail?

Each certificte is custom made to your specifications. Please allow 2-3 business days for the certificate to be created and 5-7 days for the US mail. The latest recommended date for mailing a certificate is Friday, December 13. If you are concerned about the timing or would like the certificate sooner, we recommend selecting the "print-at-home" option in the form!

Can the recipients exchange this experience for something else?

If the exchange is requested a minimum of 2 weeks prior to the class date, the value of any registration may be exchanged for a different available class or educational experience. A $5 processing fee will apply. Requests within 2 weeks of the class date may not be honored.
Exchanges must be requested via phone 612-301-1210 or email

Can I receive a refund?

Registration cancellations must be made two weeks prior to class date in order to receive refund. A $5 processing fee will apply.
Refunds must be requested via phone 612-301-1210 or email

Member Perk!
Arboretum Members may invite non-members to attend a class with them at the discounted member rate! Simply register for all participants at the same time in the same order and select the "member" rate for each person at checkout.

The best chance of being enrolled in a sold out class is to add your name to the waitlist. Click the orange "waitlist" button and complete the form, or call 612-301-1210. There is no obligation to register if a spot opens. If the waitlist shows enough demand, additional class sessions may be added.
