Saturday, April 22, 10 a.m. - noon Minnesota Bee Atlas staff
Honey bees and bumble bees are easily recognized and play an important role in pollination, but they are a small fraction of the almost 20,000 bee species in the world. Minnesota is home to hundreds of bee species, but the last comprehensive inventory was made almost a century ago. Join the Minnesota Bee Atlas project and help to create a comprehensive, brand new state-wide inventory of the native bees found in Minnesota! You and other environmental enthusiasts will learn from the project staff, starting with an overview of native bees and pollination. They will discuss the exciting work already done with the Minnesota Bee Atlas, and then train you in several ways you can participate in the project as a citizen science volunteer. You will receive hands-on instruction, practice in the field, and a comprehensive handout. This is a great way to celebrate Earth Day all season long!
ALL SPOTS FILLED. ADD YOUR NAME TO THE WAITLIST This program is free, but pre-registration required. Limit 70, Tashjian Bee and Pollinator Discovery Center
