2015 Clean Water Summit Overview
SUMMIT GOALS We promote the use of green infrastructure...practices using vegetation, soils and natural processes for managing water...to protect surface waters, but we must also ask the question, "What is the role of green infrastructure in protecting groundwater systems?" At the 2015 Clean Water Summit, we will use presentations, case studies and discussion to explore this increasingly important question. Anyone who plans, designs for, or manages our water resources will gain:
- An awareness of how land use and stormwater management have altered our region's natural hydrology
- A better understanding of the role green infrastructure has played in surface water protection
- Current research and trends for addressing the issues and concerns related to surface water management and groundwater quality and supply in our communities
WHO SHOULD ATTEND The 2015 Clean Water Summit will bring together a wide variety of individuals involved in stormwater management, groundwater management, community development and redevelopment, municipal operations, and design professionals, including:
watershed district and watershed management organization staff • municipal planners and engineers county planners and staff • consulting engineers and landscape architects • contractors and installers private developers • policy makers • interested citizens
