Here's what's blooming as of early September. This is a perfect time to wander the Arboretum gardens and collections. Hydrangeas, dahlias, roses and mums are breath-taking! The shrub collections have maturing fruit and the beginnings of fall color. Our ornamental grasses are at mature height and lovely. In the Garden for Wildlife and Prairie Garden, look for goldenrods, coneflowers, gayfeather and native grasses in their glory. The Home Demo Gardens are bursting with mature veggies! The Annual Garden is still picturesque and colorful in its Gertrude Jekyll "English cottage garden" color scheme.
Our "Nature in Glass" exhibit of Craig Mitchell Smith glass sculptures in our gardens has been extended to Sept. 10. See you at the Arboretum!
