WhatSEASONAL ALERTS

An Abundance of Color (Updated July 27) -

This week there is no lack of color in a wide variety of areas. The Terrace Gardens around the visitor centers contain newly arrived Dahlias, Daisies, Sage, and Hydrangeas. The Annual Garden is still maintaining its rainbow of color provided by colorful snapdragons, canna lilies, marigolds, lantana, and zinnia. The Perennial Garden is still ripe with lilies, dahlias, cone flowers, phlox, monarda, balloon flower and amethyst flower. Out on the Three Mile Drive Loop the Shrub Rose Garden is beginning its late summer bloom with many rose varieties forming a picturesque collage of pink, red, white and yellow blossoms. The Shrub Collection continues to sport some eye-popping yellow cinquefoil.
