We, at Alice Smith Elementary in Hopkins, have really enjoyed our Veggies by the Yard experience. We still have carrots in our "Dig It" garden. We're still picking a few tomatoes and will likely harvest some spinach this week. Last week we picked a zucchini and discovered one as large as a club that we missed. The kids think it's pretty amazing! One of our ELL teachers has been bringing her students out to see the garden and do some journaling each week. They have some wonderful photos and are learning many new vocabulary words. We'll definitely plant a garden again next year....I'm already thinking about what worked well and what we may do differently.
