SCHOOL PROGRAMS
More than 50,000 children each year participate in the Arboretum's nationally
recognized hands-on, scienced-based learning programs. Choose from a variety of opportunities to engage your group of kids.

Field Trips
Visit the Arboretum during the Fall, Winter, or Spring and treat your students to a hands-on, real plants, learning experience. Check out our regular complement of standards-based programs for all seasons. All field trips are $5.00 per student.

Plantmobile
Can't take the time away? We'll come to you with the Plantmobile! We bring the hands-on science, real plants, microscopes, lively take-home investigations-it's a discovery-filled fieldtrip right in your classroom.
All programs last one hour. Minimum is 12 students/session, 2 sessions/day. Maximum is 32 students/session, 4 sessions/day. Minimum time between sessions is 15 minutes. Maximum time between morning and afternoon sessions is 1-1/2 hours. Plantmobile visits are $4.75 per student plus $50 transportation fee to school.
ATTN. SUNFLOWER SUPREME PARTICIPANTS: For the .pdfs of classroom extension activities for our Sunflower Supreme program, click here. Just print them out on 8.5"x14" paper (legal size) and you are ready to extend the learning for your students. Activities utilize the excitement around the sunflower's growth to build math and reasoning skills.

Self-Guided Visits
You know your students' needs best. Self-Guided tour materials are available to help you and your students experience the Arboretum on your own. Outdoor picnic shelters and grassy areas are available for eating lunch on a first-come-first-served basis.

Home-School Days
Want to get hands-on plant science into your home-school curriculum? Consider an Arboretum learning experience. For individuals or homeschool groups the Arboretum offers hands-on plant experiences that address state science standards in a unique and engaging educational setting. Can't take the time away?
