Powerhouse Plants

The Minnesota Landscape Arboretum is proud to present Powerhouse Plants, opening June 5, 2010, featuring designs that explore the energizing links between plants and people. As an artist, performance artist, scientist, designer, architect, landscape architect, horticulturist, educator, environmental organization or other interested party, you're invited to submit a design proposal. Designs may consider plants as living power stations that process sunlight. They may explore the remarkable ways human life is energized by plants, in foods we eat, fuel we burn, burgeoning efforts to gasify and ferment plants for bioenergy, or other artistic visions powered by or created from plants. Installations will be sited among the Arboretum's highly visible Walking Area Gardens.

Powerhouse Plants will also feature new Arboretum exhibits on growing, converting and using bioenergy from plants, and on the incredible, edible powerhouse from our Minnesota-grown bounty of fresh vegetables, fruits, herbs and grains.
