Information Technology Assistant
Position Overview:
The MN Landscape Arboretum in Chaska, MN has an immediate opening for an Information Technology Assistant to work on-site at the Arboretum and Horticultural Research Center. This position offers up to 20 hours per week during the school year and up to 40 hours per week during summer and winter breaks. Days/Hours are flexible Monday - Friday between 8:00AM and 6:00PM.
Salary for this position will be dependent upon qualifications. This is not a benefit eligible position.
Required Qualifications:
General knowledge of IBM compatible computers running Windows XP/Vista including installing and configuring standard office applications such as Office2000, or later, Internet Apps, etc.
Must pass background check.
Desired Qualifications:
Familiarity with configuring network client in Windows, including TCP/IP desirable, but will train. Database knowledge a plus.
Job Duties:
50% - Assist users with software setup and/or computer and peripheral operation.
40% - Setup (install and configure software, network client, and printers) and install computers and peripherals.
10% - Inventory, test and prepare old systems for sale or disposal.
Travel between Snyder Building, Oswald Visitor Center, Horticultural Research Center and Learning Center facilities required.
