Choose from a variety of indoor spaces and outdoor terraces in the Arboretum's stunning, new Oswald Visitor Center and historic Snyder Building-many with beautiful garden views.

OSWALD VISITOR CENTER

The new Oswald Visitor Center serves as a special event center and formal entry to the Arboretum's 1000 acres of magnificent gardens and natural areas.

McQuinn Great Hall (150 Guests)

Looking for an exceptional space for your reception? The McQuinn Great Hall features soaring 40-foot ceilings with massive Douglas fir trusses-an extraordinary space for an after hours cocktail and hors d'oeuvres reception, set with high-top tables and hors d'oeuvres stations. Large windows and cupola allow natural light to illuminate the space, which offers views of outdoor terrace gardens. No formal seating is available for this space. Call for rates and availability. Food and beverage minimums are $3000 for Saturdays and $2500 for Friday-Sunday.

MacMillan Auditorium & Reedy Gallery

(200-300 Guests Seated, 225 - 350 Guest for Cocktail Reception)

The spacious MacMillan Auditorium features state-of-the-art multimedia technology, dance floor (optional), stunning wood beams, and high ceilings. Guests enter through the Reedy Gallery, which features changing art shows, skylights, and views of the Keating Terrace with Gingko trees and landscaped floral beds. Accommodates 200-300 guests seated; 225-350 for cocktail reception with hors d'oeuvres, high-top tables and limited seating. Rental rates are $2000 for Friday and Saturday evenings (6 p.m.- Midnight) and $1650 for Sunday-Thursday evenings (6 p.m.-.Midnight). Food and beverage minimums are $4000 for Saturdays and $3000 for Sunday-Friday.

Restaurant & Newton Terrace (100-160 Guests)

Admire views of the south gardens and terraces, as well as a panoramic view of Lake Minnewashta to the northeast. The two-sided fireplace adds a cozy ambiance to both the main dining room and a private dining space, which can be used for buffet service. In warm weather, the dining room opens to the multi-level Newton Terrace and10-foot granite waterfall. The dining room seats 170. The terrace seats up to 150 people and is a great space for a social hour with tented hors ‘d oeuvres and bar. Rental rates are $2000 for Friday and Saturday evenings (6:30 p.m.- Midnight) and $1650 Sunday-Thursday evenings (6:30 p.m.- Midnight). Food and beverage minimums are $4000 for Saturdays and $3000 for Sunday-Friday.

Welcoming Terrace

Make your event extra special by adding this beautiful landscaped, gated terrace to your MacMillan Auditorium or McQuinn Great Hall rental. Use as a cocktail hour or as a retreat for guests to stargaze during evening hours. Rental is $400 and includes high-top tables.

Visitor Center Buy-Out for Larger Events: (300-400 Guests)

Create the ultimate reception with a formal plated dinner in the Arboretum Restaurant and MacMillan Auditorium. Afterwards, bring the group together for a toast to the Bride and Groom to dance in our spectacular McQuinn Great Hall. The package also includes use of the Newton Terrace and Welcoming Terrace for an outdoor cocktail hour or late night stargazing. Rental rates are $4000 for Friday and Saturday evenings (6 p.m.- Midnight) and $3400 for Sunday-Thursday evenings (6 p.m.- Midnight).

SNYDER BUILDING

The Snyder Building, designed by renowned Minnesota architect Edwin Lundie, combines massive wood timbers and cathedral ceilings with earth-tone colors to create warm, intimate settings for wedding ceremonies and receptions.

Snyder Auditorium (75-120 Guest)

This majestic space, featuring curved ceiling beams and wrought iron chandeliers, creates an atmosphere of casual elegance that is timeless. Double doors open onto the front terrace and a magnificent perennial garden. Rental rates are $1200 for Friday and Saturday evenings (6 p.m.- Midnight) and $900 for Sunday-Thursday evenings (6 p.m.- Midnight). Food and beverage minimums are $2500 for Saturdays and $2000 for Sunday-Friday.

Fireplace Room & Balcony (50 Guests)

A popular reception space, the Fireplace Room offers cozy atmosphere, complete with crackling fire during the cooler months, a bird's-eye view of surrounding gardens and grounds, attractive cabin-style furniture. Rental of the space includes use of our charming indoor balcony for dining and buffet service. Rental rates are $700 for Friday and Saturday evenings (6 p.m.- Midnight) and $450 for Sunday-Thursday evenings (6 p.m.- Midnight). Food and beverage minimums are $1000 for Saturdays and $800 for Sunday-Friday.

Tea Room & Terrace (50 Guests)

Enjoy an intimate indoor and outdoor reception area with exceptional garden views. This charming space is encircled in windows with a wood-burning fireplace, massive wood beams, and a walkout stone terrace overlooking tranquil wetlands and woodlands. Rental rates are $175 per hour (6 p.m.- Midnight). Food and beverage minimums are $1250 for Saturdays and $1000 for Sunday-Friday.

Snyder Auditorium, Tea Room & Tea Room Terrace (50-120 Guests)

A wedding right out of the bridal magazines - tables under magnificent trees and amidst lush gardens. Worried about rain? This space connects with the Snyder Auditorium and Tea Room so an indoor back up is part of your rental package. An ideal garden terrace for cocktail hour, light music, and passed hors 'd'oeuvres outside and then a short walk to the Snyder Auditorium for dancing. This space is only available in conjunction with the Snyder Auditorium. Pricing includes the Snyder Auditorium, Tea Room and Tea Room Terrace. Rental rates are $2100 for Friday and Saturday evenings (6 p.m.- Midnight) and $1800 for Sunday-Thursday evenings (6 p.m.- Midnight).

Gardens and indoor spaces may be reserved up to 18 months in advance.
