Arboretum Presents:
In the Heart of the Beast Puppet and Mask Theatre

In the Heart of the Beast Puppet & Mask Theatre, one of the most innovative and colorful  theater groups in the Twin Cities, will present several family-friendly performances at the Arboretum this summer as part of the Waterosity summer exhibition.  Performances are as follows:

"Land of 10,000 Lakes"
Saturday, June 13, 12:30-1:15 p.m., Trex Leaf Deck
Saturday, Aug. 8, 12:30-1:15 p.m. MacMillan Auditorium

Help Dr. Hardwater answer questions about water, such as "Where does it come from?" and "Where does it go?" in this informative and fun one-man show for the whole family.   This one-person show investigates Minnesota's historic connection to water in an entertaining, educational way.

"Are You Thirsty?"
Saturday and Sunday, July 11 & 12, 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.
Trex Leaf Deck (near Ordway picnic shelter)

Explore the myriad questions contained in a cup of water - one of our most precious and necessary shared resources.  This performance demonstrates how much of the earth's water is available for drinking, compares tap and bottled water and helps us understand ourselves as part of the urban water cycle - bringing water issues vibrantly to life.

Since its founding in 1973, In the Heart of the Beast Puppet and Mask Theatre has been using water, flour, newspaper, paint and unlimited imagination to tell stories that explore the struggles  and celebrations of human existence.  Incorporating street theater with global puppetry traditions, Heart of the Beast creates illuminating performance experiences for all ages.

The performances at the Arboretum are free with gate admission.  No reservations required.
