ABOUT THE WORKSHOP

By including Equus (horse) in our daily practice of cultivating balance, equanimity, we are provided with a unique role model—another conscious being who demonstrates with wisdom and peace how to be in the present, how to let go of attachment and accept life as it is, and how to manage life with an ease and give-and-take, despite environmental, physical, or emotional conditions.

Living back and forth in the cycle of equanimity, we discover how to ride life at a walk, trot, canter, or even full out, run-through-the-fields stampede.

Also infused in our experience is the labyrinth—a symbol that holds ancient stories of equestrian trials within its paths and is being rediscovered as a valuable tool in contemporary spiritual practices that include meditative walking.

Interweaving horse wisdom with the powerful experiences found in these meandering paths has the potential to profoundly enhance our work as we explore our life journey and ways of being present to the world around us and our companions along the way.

This retreat will provide participants the opportunity to work with horses and walk a labyrinth.  Lessons from each of these powerful teachers will guide our time together and we will create an individual finger labyrinth and horse-totem guide to symbolize the transformation possible in all of us.
