—Fall Tour of the Grape Breeding Program, 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Free and open to the public. Meet at the Horticultural Research Center (HRC), 1.5 miles west of the Arboretum entrance on State Highway. 5. The event will begin with discussion and tasting of several dozen grape varieties and breeding selections from the U of M grape-breeding program. Attendees will then break into groups to tour some of the research vineyards. Event concludes with a tour of the research winery and small sampling of experimental wines. This is a great opportunity to get a behind-the-scenes look at the university's grape-breeding and enology projects.

Weekend Family Fun: Cattail Creations. Get to know the amazing wetland plants that survive in standing water. Weave your own cattail creation.
