--July 7: Complementing the Grape II with Michael Grabner (800--07-07-11) 6:30pm-8:30 p.m. Back by demand, our chef is Century Wine & Spirits Wine Buyer and culinary adventurist Michael Grabner. Find out what he considers when pairing wines, while we enjoy a delicious, summer meal with wine tastings. Michael's approach to cooking is to keep the ingredients to less than 10 per recipe and let the complementing flavors do the talking. $45 member/$55 non-member, Learning Center. --Saturday, July 9: Free Members Event, 10:30 a.m. (Non-members welcome for a $7.50 fee with advance registration.) Many Shakespearean plays are set in nature, so it's appropriate to gather in the garden for the second in our three-part series featuring "People, Plants, and . . . Literature" Saturday, July 9 when Toni McNaron, U of M English professor emerita, comes to the Arboretum to read and discuss the works of William Shakespeare. Meet on the terrace immediately behind the Snyder Building at 10:30 a.m.; dress comfortably for walking and lawn-sitting. In case of rain, the event will move to the Snyder Auditorium.

--Saturday, July 9: Pestos With PIZAZZ! 9 a.m.-11 a.m. There's a plethora of pestos beyond basic basil (no offense to the basil)! We get to taste and make a variety of these versatile pestos. How about Walnut Sage Pesto, Sun Dried Tomato Pesto, Cilantro Pesto, Wild Mushroom Pesto and even a fruit pesto!
