September 9, 9 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Instructor: Dan Marshall Level: Beginner Class Fee: $95 member / $105 non-member Azalea Classroom. Limit 20 participants. Learn how to photograph people through classroom instruction and field exploration. Work will be reviewed and critiqued at the end of the day. Subject matter is sure to be abundant with the opening of the Arboretum's maze exhibition. Participants are required to bring a digital camera, USB card reader for the camera. A laptop and flash drive are recommended, but not required. Breakfast provided.
Digital Photography Workshops
October 4 - 7, 9 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. each day Instructors: John Gregor and Randy Hagar Level: Intermediate Workshop Fee: $595 member / $625 non-member Azalea Classroom. Limit 20 participants. Capture the Arboretum's glorious fall color under expert instruction. After an Arboretum garden professional guides your field exploration, return to the classroom to learn about fine-tuning compositional skills, post-processing, and fine-tuning exposure. Participants will also learn how to assemble a body of photographic work and prepare images for exhibition. Breakfast provided each day.
Digital Processing and Printing Workshops
November 17 and 18, 2007 This gallery exhibition allows participants from the 4-day workshops (noted with *) to exhibit and sell their finest Arboretum photographs. Participants are responsible for their own print production for the gallery show and sale. Guided Field Explorations Class fee: $30 member / $35 non-member Meet in the Visitor Center lobby. Limit 20 participants per day.
