Arboretum Cooking Series Features Local Chefs

‘Restaurateurs of the Year’ Share Signature Dishes

 

Chanhassen, Minn. (July 18) – The Minnesota Landscape Arboretum’s 2008 Cooking Series continues this summer with a spotlight on local “Restaurateurs of the Year” from such hot spots as The Birchwood Cafe, Craftsman, Lucia’s and more.   

These demonstration-style classes include a 3-4 course meal, and a tasting of three different wines.  Classes take place in the Harvest Kitchen in the Marion Andrus Learning Center unless otherwise mentioned. Attendees must be 21 years of age. Class fee is $50 per person for Arboretum members, $60 for non-members, unless otherwise noted. Cooking with Restaurateurs of the Year

            Named by Mpls./St. Paul Magazine as the 2007 “Restaurateurs of the Year,” these Twin Cities chefs lead the way in using farm-fresh, locally raised ingredients.  Here’s a lineup of featured chefs:

            “Cooking with Marshall Paulsen of Birchwood Café,” Thursday, Aug. 7, 6:30-9 p.m. Harvest Kitchen, Andrus Learning Center. $50 member/ $60 non-member.  952-443-1422 to register.

The Minnesota Landscape Arboretum, the largest public garden in the Upper Midwest and a premier northern arboretum, is part of the College of Food, Agricultural and Natural Resource Sciences at the University of Minnesota and developed as a community and national resource for horticultural and environmental information, research, and public education.
