Chanhassen, Minn. (March 18, 2010) - Set in the spectacular and scenic Minnesota Landscape Arboretum, two special events - Gala in the Gardens 2010 in mid-June and Toast & Taste in the Gardens at the end of July - promise to be the premier garden parties of the summer. All proceeds benefit the Arboretum. Here are details: • Gala in the Gardens 2010: Delight, Discover, Dream. Join us Wednesday, June 16, 6-9 p.m. for a beautiful summer evening featuring a garden reception, music, al fresco dining and live auction, all to benefit and support the important work of the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum. Advance reservations required for $500, $250 and $175 per person. • Toast & Taste in the Gardens. Thursday, July 29, 7-9 p.m. This "green" after-hours showcase features tastes of in-season, fresh local cuisine from 20 of the best specialty restaurants in town including Spoonriver, The Corner Table, Café Maude and more. Regional wines, brews and live music, all in the unparalleled gardens of the Arboretum during the height of summer, complete the picture. Reservations required. Pre-party patron reception at 6 p.m., $100; or general admission from 7:00 p.m., $75. All proceeds benefit the Arboretum. The Minnesota Landscape Arboretum, the largest public garden in the Upper Midwest and a premier northern arboretum, is part of the College of Food, Agricultural and Natural Resource Sciences at the University of Minnesota and developed as a community and national resource for horticultural and environmental information, research, and public education. It is located nine miles west of I-494 on Highway 5 in Chanhassen.
