Explore the Arboretum and create art based on observations. Learn new techniques as you experiment with pencil, paint, clay and pastels. Different projects each summer for repeat campers. Includes a special curator-led exploration of the Arboretum's new sculpture garden!

DIRT DETECTIVES FOR 1ST - 2ND GRADE GRADS (985-07-09-13)
Tuesday-Thursday, July 9-11, 9 a.m. - Noon

Unravel the mysteries of plants. Explore the Arboretum gardens and soils, conduct experiments, and write a secret message using plant-based invisible ink! Start new plants without using seeds (use leaves, roots, rhizomes, stems or spores instead). Bring home plants and projects to continue discoveries at home.

FLY AWAY PLANTS FOR 1ST - 2ND GRADE GRADS (985-07-30-13)
Tuesday-Thursday, July 30-August 1, 9 a.m.-1 p.m.
$106 member/$118 non-member, Price includes snacks and any project supplies, Limit 18, Learning Center

Some plants are airborne only as seeds, and some spend their entire lives 200 feet in the air! Examine the ways that plants use the air, from breathing to flying to pollination. Experiment with seed propulsion by catapult and parachute, use the sun to cook a snack, and bring home special air-loving plants. Combine this camp with "Arboretum Adventures" for a full-day option. Bring your own water bottle and bag lunch each day.

ARBORETUM ADVENTURES (986-07-30-13)

Explore, hike, forage, collect, build, and imagine an epic path through some of the hidden places at the Arboretum! Awaken your sense of adventure and creativity while we play outside. KITCHEN CREATORS (987-08-15-13)
Thursday, August 15, 1 p.m.-4 p.m.

Wraps and Rolls! From calzones to burritos, eggrolls to samosas, experiment with different ways to roll up garden fresh ingredients into super tasty eats! (Food is as organic and local as possible, often using fresh produce harvested from the Arboretum Children's Garden!)
