Spooktacular Concert, 3-4 p.m., MacMillan Auditorium. A concert of Halloween favorites, performed by the Minnetonka Symphony Orchestra. Free with gate admission.

Wednesday, Oct. 31
Ar-BOO-retum! 8 a.m.-6 p.m., Oswald Visitor Center. Gather your little ghosts and witches and visit the Arboretum--free gate admission for everyone in costume. Trick or Treat for apples in the Gift & Garden Store 10 a.m.-2 p.m.; free cookies in the Cafe for kids in costume.

Sunday, Nov. 4 
Fall About Dogs 5K Fun Run/Walk. New! Bring your favorite four-legged friend and run/walk the 5K course. All proceeds benefit the Arb.  More Information.

Origami in the Garden

As the engaging Box Studio Exhibit heads into its final month, visitors have had three seasons to experience the show, whether complimented by tulips, summer blooms and now fall's finest hues. More Information.

Flora and Fauna Illustrata

Arboretum Skyway Gallery. An exhibit by the Andersen Horticultural Library of art recently accepted into the Flora and Fauna Illustrata collection.

Reedy Gallery

Through Oct. 21: "Inside Out"
All of the pieces in this exhibit were originally folded from a single piece of paper. Hidden within every folded origami object is a "crease pattern"-a document of history accounting for most of the choices or creases made in creating an origami object. For this exhibit, a selection of models has been folded and unfolded to reveal the complex patterns hidden beneath the surface of the origami. More Information.

Oct. 26-Dec. 26: "Inspired by Nature: Botanical Art at the Arboretum"
Reedy Gallery. Exhibition by the Great River Chapter of the American Society of Botanical Art. About 70 works including flowers, fruits, vegetables, trees and fungi.

"Paint in Place: Outdoor Painters of Minnesota Paint the Arb"
The Outdoor Painters of Minnesota have come together to paint the exquisite ever changing beauty of the Arboretum. The mission of Outdoor Painters of Minnesota is to encourage and promote painting directly from nature. Each artist will be hanging two paintings in the gallery for this show/sale. More Information.

Plant-Maker Studio: Fun activities for visitors of all ages! Saturdays & Sundays, noon-4 p.m., Learning Center, free with gate admission. More Information.

Let's Talk Plants Q&A: Find knowledgeable Master Gardeners who are eager to answer your plant questions and point you towards plants that are at their peak seasonal bloom. Located at the Master Gardener desk in the Great Hall of the Oswald Visitor Center. Free with gate admission. More Information.

Walks with Matt and Alan: Spend a few hours with a leading Arboretum expert to uncover the mystery and beauty of the ways that plants, animals, and insects at the Arboretum adjust and prepare for the oncoming cold. Matt has recently collected treasures to show and stories to tell; at each stop along the way you will discover new ecological insights about Minnesota's autumnal season. More Information.

StoryTime in the Library: Every Thursday at 10:30 a.m., featuring nature-inspired stories for toddlers and preschoolers at the Andersen Horticultural Library in the Snyder Building. Free with gate admission.

AppleHouse: Open 10 a.m.-6 p.m. through mid-Nov. and offering over 50 varieties of apples, including Minnesota favorites SweeTango®, Zestar® and Honeycrisp. An assortment of food items such as meats and cheeses, as well as holiday gifts and decorations, will also be available for purchase. More Information.

Scarecrows in the Garden and Scarecrow Village: Daily through Oct. 31. Visit the scarecrows from Bachman’s and the Arboretum staff. See whimsical displays on the Dahlberg Terrace outside the Oswald Visitor Center and “Scarecrow Hill” near the Margot Picnic Shelter.  

World of Pumpkins: Daily Oct. 5-31. Displays of popular, heirloom and unusual pumpkins and squash - both edible and ornamental categories - will be featured in displays inside and outside the Visitor Center. Be sure to bring your camera!

Thanks for sharing the roadway on Three Mile Drive so all can enjoy the beauty and wonder: motor vehicles, bicycles, Tram and new pedestrian lane.  Bee-Line shuttles operate Thursdays-Sundays, starting at 11:30 a.m.
