Making Spirits Bright

Scarlet poinsettias, holiday trees adorned in handcrafted ornaments and garlands galore. Once again, the Arboretum staff and volunteers have outdone themselves in creating an indoor and outdoor winter wonderland here.  And just in time for this weekend’s big events!  The Auxiliary Holiday Sale of wreaths, floral arrangements and other treasures takes place in Snyder Auditorium Saturday (9 a.m. to 3 p.m.) and Sunday (11 a.m. to 3 p.m.).  Also on tap: the Minnesota Herb Society annual holiday sale (9  a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Oswald Center balcony), and the 2008 Photography Exhibit and Sale (10 a.m. to 4 p.m. both days, MacMillan Auditorium).

What would the holiday season be without a dose of “fa-la-la” and “silver bells”?   Our Making Spirits Bright series spotlights the following performers: Arbor Bells Handbell Ensemble, 6 & 7 p.m. today (Dec. 4), the Prairie Brass Quintet (noon Saturday), Minnetonka Choral Society (1:30 & 2:30 p.m. Saturday), Rum River Brass (1:30 & 2:30 p.m. Sunday), Wayzata Women’s Chorus (6 & 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 11), the Twin Cities Bronze Handbell Ensemble (1:30 & 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 13) and more!  Check the website for complete listings.  Making Spirits Bright is sponsored by American Family Insurance.
