New Trustees at the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum
Chanhassen, MN (Oct. 1, 2008) - The Minnesota Landscape Arboretum is pleased to announce the induction of five new members to its board of trustees.
Donna Beck has been a member of the Arboretum since 1998 and an annual fund donor since 2000. She is actively involved in Gustavus Adolphus College Library Associates, Children's Hospital Clinics of Minneapolis, WAMSO-Minnesota Orchestra Volunteer Association, Junior League of Minneapolis, 4-H, the Girl Scouts and Plymouth Congregational Church. Beck has a special interest in showing American Saddlebred horses and Hackney ponies, and lives in Greenwood with her husband, Warren Beck.
Susan Campbell has served on the WAMSO board of directors and has worked with the Junior League of Minneapolis and the Wildlife Rehabilitation Center of Minnesota. A longtime Arboretum supporter, Campbell holds a nursing degree. She and her husband, Jon Campbell, live in Orono.
Sally Hauser holds a B.S. in education and has served on the board of the Minnetonka Center for the Arts. In addition to gardening, her interests include ceramics, interior decorating, ornithology and golf. She and her husband, Dr. Robert Hauser, live in Long Lake.
Chris O'Brien is corporate vice president at C.H. Robinson Worldwide Inc. in Eden Prairie. He is an active gardener and has a personal interest in landscape architecture. A native of Michigan, O'Brien holds a B.A. from Alma College. His volunteer activities include Cub Scouts, the American Cancer Society, the National MS Society, the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, and the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation. O'Brien lives with his wife and three children in Edina.
John Pohlad is a managing director and the chief executive officer of Marquette Asset Management. He is a regent for St. John's University and serves on the boards of trustees for Twin Cities Public Television and the Jay Phillips Center for Jewish-Christian Learning. Pohlad holds a B.S. in business administration and Spanish, and a masters in international management. He and his family have been members of the Arboretum since 2005.
The University of Minnesota Landscape Arboretum is part of the Department of Horticultural Science within the College of Food, Agricultural and Natural Resource Sciences at the University of Minnesota. Our mission is to provide a community and national resource for horticultural and environmental information, research and public education; to develop and evaluate plants and horticultural practices for cold climates; and to inspire and delight all visitors with quality plants in well-designed and maintained displays, collections, model landscapes, and conservation areas.The Arboretum is located in Chanhassen on State Highway 5, nine miles west of Interstate 494.
